I just arrived back from a week-long vacation with my husband and two children to Orlando, Florida. My favorite part of the vacation was the time I got to spend with all of them. Even the long drive there and back. Some of the time we spent in the car I introduced my youngest, Zachary, to hidden pictures. Other times Alex, the oldest, read books out loud to Zachary.
I came home with more than 300 pictures, but they don’t completely capture the fun moments we had. One of my favorites was feeding the seals at SeaWorld when Zachary dropped the food because it was “too slimy.” Even seeing the boys giggle when they touched the sting rays warmed my heart. The world through the eyes of my children is always a brighter place.
Alex told me it was great being on vacation because no one had to work and we got to have fun together. He also enjoyed all the fun souvenirs he got along the way. I can’t wait until the family gets to plan our next vacation. But right now, we are looking forward to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens.
If you watch the commercials for Busch Gardens and Water Country USA, they focus on family connections. That is one of the main reasons my family and I enjoy spending as much time as possible at the two parks. The idea that spending time together while having fun allows a family to reconnect.
